Covid-19 Response

At Wind Rose Retreat, we take seriously the cleanliness and disinfection of all our facilities including our cabins, bathrooms, kitchen, dining hall, and activity center. With the increased concern of the most recent communicable virus know as COVID-19, we are following the guidance of government and public health officials to protect the health and safety of our guests and team members. Nothing is more important than everyone’s health and safety.

During Your Stay

We recognize that the COVID-19 virus has required all of us to be more mindful as we go through our regular activities. Daily, we are working to ensure that we meet the latest guidance from the CDC and WHO on hygiene and cleaning. Our health and safety measures are designed to address a broad spectrum of viruses, including COVID-19, and cover everything from handwashing hygiene and cleaning product specifications to guest room and common area cleaning procedures.

Specific steps we are taking include:

  • Hand Hygiene: Proper and frequent handwashing is vital to help combat the spread of viruses. In our daily meetings, our team members are reminded that cleanliness starts with this simple act. It’s important for their health and that of our guests.

  • Ongoing Training: In addition to training on housekeeping and hygiene protocols, we are also completing enhanced COVID-19 awareness training.

  • Real Time Information: Monitoring the latest news and information, we can prepare for and respond to COVID-19.

Cleaning Products and Protocols: We work with our partners and suppliers to make sure we can procure and use virus-killing products approved by the United States Environmental Protection Agency as well as the protective equipment needed for our operations. We use cleaning products and protocols which are effective against viruses to clean:

  • Guest Rooms: We use cleaning and disinfecting protocols to clean rooms after guests depart and before the next guest arrives, with particular attention paid to high-touch items.

  • Public Spaces: We have increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting in public spaces, with a focus on door handles, tables and chairs, countertops, public bathrooms, and handrails.

  • Back Office: In the spaces where team members work “behind the scenes,” we are increasing the frequency of cleaning and focusing on high-touch areas like living quarters, laundry rooms and staff offices.

Event Notification: If we are alerted to a case of COVID-19 with one of our guests, we immediately work with the relevant health authorities to obtain the facts and guidance on steps to take with both guests and team members. We undertake an additional cleaning and disinfecting protocol of the common areas of the resort as well as the areas we know the guest has been during their stay. In addition, we would seal the guest’s room (e.g., preventing entry by staff or others) and undertake a room recovery protocol that is designed to disinfect everything in the room including sanitizing the air.
